Zune just announced a big change

Earlier today those of us who are using Zune Pass were treated to an announcement about our beloved service. One that I’m very much on the fence about. The good news is nothing will change if you don’t want it to. Starting October 3rd all new Zune pass subscribers will be able to only pay $9.99 a month for Zune Pass. This is $5 lower than what I pay now. You also are able to download your stuff to 4 devices now instead of 3. However the $9.99 does not get you the 10 DRM free song credits any longer.

Again if you have the old Zune Pass nothing’s changing unless you want it to . Personally I’m really reconsidering the move. I find myself not downloading those 10 songs all of the time and 5 bucks cheaper is 5 bucks cheaper.

Zune is also coming to Canada (finally) which I think is also a good thing. Even if you don’t like this change it’s at least good to see that Microsoft isn’t abandoning the Zune entirely.
