Synergy: How to control multiple computers with one mouse/keyboard

Sometimes when it comes to beta testing I need to control multiple machines using different operating systems. I hate having to either have a reset fest, or clutter my incredible small desk with 3 mouse/keyboard combos. Sure there are things out there like a KVM switch but it costs money and in my experience never works right the first time. Synergy is a great, free, Open Source solution.Synergy is a free download and install, and it lets you use one mouse to control multiple systems. I’ve messed around with it a few times and their latest build seems pretty good. I will warn you this is not for the faint of heart when it comes to setup and config. If you want to do this in “noob” mode, only plan on using Windows machines, and don’t mind paying $30-50, you should check out Miltiplicity. Same concept but a little less config intense. Both are definitely worth checking out!
