I got the chance to see the Hangover part 2 on Saturday, and even though I was a bit buttered up by watching it in an awesome theater, it was a really enjoyable movie. Most of the time I’m not a big fan of these popular comedies where it follows a predictable path and the comedy comes from those moments you might not expect. Hangover 2 is not a reinvention of the comedic wheel, nor is it really ever unpredictable, but Hangover 2 was carried by the fact that the actors chosen are just really funny no matter what the situation is.
I’m not going to go through the plot or the story themes because frankly if you saw the first one, or even read the title you’ve got about 60% of the plot of the film. The true stars of the movie are Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms who just crack you up every chance they get. Whether it’s a one liner or just a look, you cannot help but laugh even though the film is so predictable.
You have the same basic ” I woke up and I don’t know what happened” storyline of the original, a lot of returning characters and definitely some laughable moments. Also, there is a monkey which is always a win.
I’m not 100% sure it was worth the price of admission but it is definitely worth a watch.
