So Google just released a stand alone app for Docs, which wouldn’t be that big of a deal except for a small easter egg inside. With the app you get what you expect the ability to do basic editing of your existing docs or create a new one. The Android app though lets you take a picture of a doc and turn that into a Google Doc on the fly. You take a picture and the app used OCR to translate so you can make a document to edit right there.
I’ve tried it out with a typed document and it worked flawlessly. I haven’t tried it with something handwritten yet, but it will be pretty cool if that works too. Think about how this can help you if you are taking a class. You can instantly make a backup copy of your notes (provided you write legibly). You can instantly GDoc a handout from a teacher, or from a meeting.
I’m not sure why you’re still reading this and not getting the app right now! GO GO GO!!!
